Domaine de Mourchon, Séguret

Provence can be so much more than sunshine and olives (although they are the things that make life so much more enjoyable). In wintertime the earth gives up its own culinary gems in the form of the black truffle. Enjoy a delicious experience with us from truffle hunt to table…

Join us for a 4 night stay at the Mas de Mourchon, where we will explore the secret world of the “Diamant Noir du Vaucluse”, better know as the winter black truffle.

Here is an example of the itinerary for your truffle experience with us;

Arriving in Avignon on Wednesday afternoon, you will be collected and brought to the Mas de Mourchon in Séguret. After settling in we will gather for a champagne aperitif, followed by a four course meal, introducing the theme of your stay in the most delicious way.

On Thursday after a breakfast, we will head out to La Baumes-de-Transit to experience a truffle hunt with Guillaume and his dedicated team! From there we will head to Puymeras for a guided visit of the world renowned truffle supplier Plantin. Originally a small family business launched in the 1930’s, they now supply truffles internationally, including Michelin starred restaurants across the globe. We will then return to the mas for a cooking class using some of the truffles we unearthed that morning.

On Friday, we will head to Chateauneuf-du-Pape for a wine tasting at Chateau La Nerthe, the historic domaine which has been creating and exporting wines since the 17th century.

After lunch, we visit a second winery, Domaine de la Solitude in Gigondas. Also steeped in history, this domaine has ancestral ties to Avignon Papal Court. We will experience a tasting of their exceptional wines in a dedicated VIP space.

In the evening we will head out for a lovely meal at a local favourite, La Fleur Bleue.

On Saturday our outing takes us to the largest specialized truffle market in France, located in Richeranche. There you will see the locals and professionals doing a roaring trade, all from the back of their farm vehicles! Lunch to follow is at La Provençal, for a traditional fare of fresh oysters, and a truffle omelette, with some local wines for the perfect, authentic experience.

After a relaxing walk around the medieval part of Vaison-la-Romaine, seeing some of the vast Roman archaeological site, or just a casual drink on the town’s main square, we will return to the mas and share our final meal together.

After a leisurely breakfast on Sunday morning, you will be transferred back to Avignon for your onward journey.

The cost is 4000€ per person. A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to confirm your reservation. The remainder of your fees are due 60 days before the Truffle Experience begins.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended.

What is not included;

  • Transportation from your home point of departure to and from Avignon TGV station
  • Any extra purchases that you make (wine, truffles, souvenirs, etc.)
