Food & Wine Experience
I have joined forces with Follow The Vin to offer a 6 night stay at the Mas de Mourchon with cooking classes on site , and guided wine tasting at various domaines in the region. What could be better?!

At Mas de Mourchon, you can enjoy the beauty of the domaine, and let the surrounding vines and vistas inspire you to create equally beautiful food, while pairing with a fine selection of wines. During your 6 night stay at the mas, this is how the days will unfold;
Your arrival on Sunday afternoon is yours to settle in, explore, relax by the pool, or walk in the hills.
Sunday evening we will gather for a Champagne apéro, sharing a moment to meet one another, discuss the planning, prepare for the coming days’ class time and touring. Philip Reddaway from Follow The Vin will provide an informative wine briefing and introduction to the Rhône Valley wines, after which we will enjoy a delicious meal to set the tone for our days to come.

Monday will begin with our seasonal continental breakfast. Following that, we will enjoy a visit to one of the oldest wineries in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with a lunch served at the beautiful Verger des Papes, . Afterward, we’ll return to the Mas for the first cooking class at 3:30 PM. Our cooking classes explore Provençal and Mediterranean flavours using local and organic ingredients, focusing on flavour development and cornerstone techniques. Dinner will follow at the mas, where we will enjoy the 3 course meal we have created, paired with specifically chosen wines.
Tuesday morning we will visit the market in Vaison-la-Romaine. This market has existed for more than half a millennium, and is one of the oldest and most lively markets in Provence, with an amazing array of local food producers, plants and flowers, clothing and quality souvenirs. Our market visit will be followed by a tasting at Domaine des Escaravailles, and a picnic lunch featuring some of the fresh produce we picked up from the market. The afternoon is yours to freely explore Séguret, the charming village located down the hill from the Mas, take a stroll through the vines, or perhaps have a game of tennis. Later that afternoon, we will learn about wine pairing, which will be the theme of our evening meal showcasing the magic that occurs when food and wine come together harmoniously.

Wednesday Enjoy breakfast before heading out to visit a local winery for a tasting. We will then return to the Mas for fortifying nibbles to keep us going during our afternoon cooking class from 1-4pm, followed by a late lunch of our creations at the Mas at 4pm. After a digestive rest, we will then head out to L’Arbre a Vins wine bar in Vaison-la-Romaine to taste some of the excellent wines on offer, accompanied by a selection of tapas.
Thursday, the day starts with a delightful breakfast before heading out to explore the picturesque village of Gigondas. The morning will conclude with a tasting at Domaine des Bosquets. In the afternoon we will visit Clos du Caveau in Vacqueyras, where we will experience an incredible wine tasting, followed by a three-course lunch prepared for the group. And if in the evening you can still find a bit a space, a light dinner of a seasonal soup or salad, cheeses, and (of course) wine will be available.

Friday starts with breakfast before heading to the Domaine de Mourchon caveau located on the property. We will enjoy an informative tour and tasting before heading back to the Mas for lunch, followed by a final cooking class at 3:30PM. In the evening, we will celebrate our time together, preparing a wonderful grilled pizza dinner.
On Saturday transportation will be provided after breakfast to the TGV station in Avignon.
Each meal that we create during our cooking class sessions will feature local, mainly organic, and seasonal ingredients. We will prepare four course meals comprised of a starter, main course, selection of cheeses, and dessert. With each meal, wines of the Côte du Rhone region will be specifically chosen to pair with the day’s menu
